This project focuses on redesigning an existing Griffith University café into a Community Dining Hub for students, staff and local residents. The aim is to create a space that supports more than dining, offering opportunities for studying, socialising, relaxing and connecting with others throughout the day.

The design explores how seating arrangements, spatial layout, materials and lighting can influence the way people experience and use the space. Different seating options allow users to choose between quiet individual activities and shared social experiences, while the relationship between indoor and outdoor areas creates a stronger connection to the surrounding environment.

Accessibility and sensory comfort are also considered throughout the design, with attention to movement, circulation, lighting, material choices and the overall atmosphere. The proposal responds to the different needs of its users while allowing the space to adapt to changing activities and levels of use throughout the day.

Through these considerations, the project explores how thoughtful interior design can transform an everyday university café into a more inclusive and welcoming community space.
